Features and benefits of SuperCap system:
1. The concrete is placed and bull floated, but not finished. This process leaves a profile on the concrete for the SuperCap to bond to alleviating the need to shot blast. Another benefit is quicker hydration, which will result in less moisture related problems.
2. If excess moisture is a concern, the Aquafin SG3 100% high solids epoxy primer can be used under the SuperCap reducing vapor transmission from a high of 25lbs to less than 1lb. The SuperCap protects the moisture barrier during construction activity and during future retrofits leaving a permanent fix for the life cycle of the building.
3. SuperCap is a moisture tolerant underlayment which can be placed over green concrete with a RH of 95%. Though the product is not rated for exterior use, some exposure to water is acceptable unlike standard Portland cement based underlayment, which will breakdown when exposed to water.
4. SuperCap provides a permanent alkalinity barrier. The number one cause of adhesive failure is alkali migrating to the surface of concrete and destroying adhesives. This feature provides the benefit of increasing product performance, while reducing life cycle cost.
5. The power of the Pump Truck eliminates the need to bring materials into the building providing a significant reduction in time and eliminating dust completely… a huge benefit to all.
6. The power of the Pump Truck allows us to pump as high as 50 stories…all from outside the building.
7. The power of the Pump Truck allows us to place up to 50,000 square feet of underlayment @ ½” depth in a single day. This capability brings an economy of scale that reduces cost and placement time by 30 to 40% when compared with conventional delivery systems.
"The Next Generation Slab" entails a bull float after concrete placement and ½” of Supercap underlayment in lieu of a power trowel.
Unlike traditional concrete, the SuperCap System is predictable. The inherent problems with concrete deflection, moisture and tolerance are no longer an issue.
